Week 1

An interesting first week in the NFL. Derek parlayed a Monday Vick-tory (true to his entry name) to catch up to newcomer Adam "Big Daddy" Kane to tie for week one honors.

As one would expect on the opening weekend, there was little consensus on our picks, other then that Cleveland sucks. Well, we all thought that the Niners sucked too, turns out we were wrong. And all but Jeff got the memo that the Pack is most definitely not back.

Home dogs were 3-2 this week -- a trend that always merits watching. Miami is always tough at home in the heat and humidity of September

One advantage of having a newborn in the house, it's a great to excuse to lay on the couch and watch football. Sure you miss some plays changing a diaper, but it may have been the first Sunday Night and Monday Night games I have seen in their entirety in several years. And good games too.

Lots of home dogs this week (and does NO, playing in the Meadowlands count as a home dog??) making Lock of the Week is a little nervous; we'll take the Pack giving 6.5 at Lambeau, trusting that they are not as at home as Cleveland will be on the Road.

Make it a good week.

My oldset daughter was born at the beginning of January, 1997. At the age of 4 weeks she watched my Patriots in the Super Bowl with me, and managed to keep me calm throughout. Unfortuantely, given how that game turned out, I've had to force the little jinx to leave the room for the last three Patriots super bowls -- The results speak for themselves.

That's pretty funny. Does she have to leave the room for the Sox too?
